UK rules and territory directory
Find sourced local guides and check their scope before drawing conclusions.
Great Britain rules and Northern Ireland context are distinguished in the linked guides. This directory is a navigation aid, not a determination of your eligibility or legal permission. A listing, website availability or overseas licence does not establish local authorization. Follow the dated guide and official sources for current details.

Start with the correct jurisdiction
Great Britain means England, Scotland and Wales. The UK also includes Northern Ireland, whose gambling framework differs. The Gambling Commission explains that its Gambling Act jurisdiction covers Great Britain. A website using pounds or calling itself a UK casino does not resolve that distinction. Check the actual legal operator, domain and relevant permission against the official register.
Regulatory authorisation and clear promotional terms are separate checks. A genuine licence does not establish that every reward suits your circumstances, while an understandable advertisement does not establish that the business is authorised. For Northern Ireland, check the applicable consumer route rather than assuming every GB protection applies identically.

Understand the rules in force
From 19 January 2026, the UKGC incentive rules impose a maximum ten-times requirement for playing through bonus funds and restrict including more than one gambling product type within an incentive. The product categories include betting, casino, bingo and lottery. The original December 2025 implementation date was changed; a guide retaining it needs correction.
The Commission guidance explains nuances, including unrestricted customer choice over which product to use credit on. A casino package containing different slot games is not automatically a mixed-product incentive. Follow both the qualifying activity and the reward instead of judging compliance from the promotion name alone.

Checking a Great Britain casino licence
Check the official regulator's records for the exact operator, domain and game. A familiar brand or foreign licence does not establish local permission.

Match the business and website
Identify the legal operator in the footer or terms and compare it with the Gambling Commission record. Check the website domain, licence status and activities covered. A real licence number copied from another business does not establish that the website you are viewing belongs to that licensee.

Check the relevant product
Different permissions cover different activities. Do not assume that a permission relating to software, premises or another gambling product authorises an online casino. The exact relationship between legal business, trading name and domain matters more than a generic statement that a group is regulated.

Great Britain and Northern Ireland are different jurisdictions

Identify the legal scope
The Gambling Commission explains that its Gambling Act jurisdiction covers Great Britain. It does not have powers to investigate and prosecute gambling in Northern Ireland under that remit. The National Lottery has a separate UK-wide framework, so a statement about lottery regulation should not be transferred to casino gambling.

Separate advertising from protection
A March 2026 parliamentary answer confirms that remote operators advertising in Northern Ireland need a Gambling Commission licence, but NI consumers do not fall within the Commission consumer-protection remit. These statements can both be true. Advertising permission and jurisdiction over an individual dispute are different questions.

Mixed-product promotions after January 2026
Understand Great Britain's January 2026 restriction on mixed-product incentives and distinguish it from a package of casino credit and casino spins.

Use the product categories
The current UKGC code identifies betting, casino, bingo and lottery as product types for this restriction. Slots and another casino game are not automatically different product categories simply because they have different names. Analyse the activity required and the reward supplied, not only the visual branding.

Read the effective rule
The restriction took effect on 19 January 2026 alongside the ten-times wagering ceiling. Guidance published before implementation explains that unrestricted customer choice about which product to use credit on is different from an operator constructing a mixed-product incentive. The exact structure therefore matters.
